“This webinar will examine the nature of crisis and will consider how a crisis event is composed of different but interlinked phases. The characteristics of a crisis are often ‘incubated’ into organisational systems and processes. It is this vulnerability that is subsequently exposed by a trigger event that moves the organisation away from its ‘designed for’ state to a ‘new systems’ state.

The latter, invariably, exceeds the control parameters that are in place to manage perturbations.

In this webinar, we will explore the three phases of crisis:
• The crisis of management
• The operational crisis
• The crisis of legitimation

We will examine the nature of the phase transitions that move an organisation from one systems state to another. We seek to identify elements of the ‘golden threads’ that are present in virtually all crisis events as a means to highlight the potential points of intervention for managers… before the proverbial hits the fan.”
