Organisations invest significantly in security controls, yet red team exercises consistently uncover vulnerabilities that audits, penetration tests and compliance frameworks fail to identify. Peter draws on real-world engagements spanning multiple sectors to explore why this gap persists.
Through case studies, he examines the full attack chain: From reconnaissance and spear phishing, through telephone social engineering and physical access, to network exploitation and data exfiltration. A recurring theme is that human, physical and cultural weaknesses remain highly exploitable regardless of technical investment, precisely what conventional testing tends to miss.
We’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how red teaming differs from traditional approaches, what it reveals, and how those findings can drive lasting improvements to security culture and resilience.
