TAKEN with a vengeance: How to be saved before you know it

This webinar was originally presented at Big SASIG. This is another chance to see it live and ask Thom questions.

“I might not have the budget, but what I do have are a particular set of services. Services I have acquired over a very long procurement process. Services that make me a nightmare for criminals who try to attack my network. If you leave my network now, that will be the end of it. But if you don’t, I will look for it, I will find it, and I will pull that killswitch.”

Do you daydream of having this conversation with the cybercriminals that attack your network? If this is you, make sure you really do have the services (and processes, procedures and policies) to back up that monologue.

Ransomware especially is invasive, pervasive, and in the worst case, destructive. Cutting off attacks before they begin is key.

In this talk, you will learn:

  1. Why ransomware can exploit even a tiny weakness in your security controls.
  2. Fundamental approaches to detect and respond, to minimise and contain damage.
  3. How to take advantage of new services, approaches, and attitudes to best curtail any ambitions you have of monologuing like a Hollywood A-lister.
