Operational technology (OT) is the backbone of energy systems and other essential utilities, communication systems, building automation, physical security systems, vehicle controls, and more. And these mission-critical infrastructures rely on industrial control systems (ICS) to deliver necessary services.
Despite the criticality of these facilities, the security measures in place on OT products are often weak or non-existent. The possibility of a breach and the associated financial and reputational damages have not been enough to motivate the industry to transform its security programs to date. How did we get here?
Watch as Justin Berman, Technical Director at Skybox Security, explores OT and ICS security control challenges. You will learn about:
- The history of ICS – what are they, why are they critical, and why are they vulnerable?
- The overview of ICS and the world of devices, and ICS convergence.
- ICS security control challenges – who are the attackers, and what can we do to prevent these attacks?
