Before the Covid-19 pandemic, SASIG regularly travelled around the UK to bring its meetings to the regions, and at last, we are able to hit the road again. We recognise that many of our members have neither the budget nor the time (nor, frankly, the inclination) to always travel to the London metropolis.

So, we are indebted to the Business Cyber Centre, whose generosity allowed us to arrange our first conference event outside London in over two years.

The day began with refreshments, networking and a welcome from Joseph Wise, Community Maker at The SASIG, and Andrew Gudgeon OBE, Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk (UKI) at Zurich Insurance.

Over the course of the day, we discussed blockchains, cyberwargaming, closing the skills gap, and how to hire a hitman on the dark web, amongst other topics.

Our gracious hosts gave us an introduction to their centre and the work they do, and ended the day with a tour of the Business Cyber Centre by the Centre’s Commercial Operations Manager, Tom Marshall, and a networking lunch.

The Business Cyber Centre brings together world-class resources, innovation, and opportunity to deliver an ecosystem dedicated to supporting and enabling safer growth of UK business. Its aim is to empower, innovate, collaborate and educate.

We work hard to make our in-person events Covid-secure – you can find out more here.
