Kindly hosted by

The National Museum of Computing (TNMoC) at Bletchley Park is dedicated to collecting and restoring historic computer systems. SASIG was delighted to sponsor an exclusive, interactive visit where up to 40 of our members got to learn about and gain inspiration from the story of a century of computing.

Exploring the museum
TNMoC’s unrivalled heritage site venue houses the world’s largest collection of functional historic computers, including the Colossus, the world’s first electronic computer, and the WITCH, the world’s oldest working digital computer. Be inspired by the museum’s history, exhibits, and activities right from the start. Bletchley’s extraordinary collection encompasses Colossus onwards, with many displays in full working order.

Escape Room Challenge
Teams of SASIG delegates (mixed at random) competed against each other to test their knowledge of computing history. They had to have their wits about them, to problem solve and work together as a team to beat the clock in a thrilling race to the finish. This year’s escape room was based on the 1980s. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the BBC, we took a trip back to the decade BBC Micro brought personal computing to classrooms across the country.

Networking lunch and drinks reception
Attendees gathered at lunch and after the escape room to enjoyed each others excellent company, networked with peers in the cybersecurity industry, and hopefully made ‘five new friends’.
