The infosec industry’s current approach of managing information and cyber risks is either inadequate or flawed. Losses from cyber-attacks are exponentially increasing year on year – in 2016 it was £362bn and is estimated to be £5tn by 2021. The average global time to detect a breach is slowly increasing and is currently at about 220 days after the breach. Meanwhile, there are more than 15,000 vendors offering various cyber security technologies and services and this number keeps increasing too!

In 2018, the world spent £93bn to inadequately manage the ever-growing information and cyber risks. These trends reflect a losing war; we must not keep on doing more of the same, we need to do things differently.
