While the world waits for a Covid-19 vaccine and suitable contact tracing applications, physical Track and Trace will become the new normal whenever we encounter close contact for professional and social reasons. Companies and individuals will need to adopt track and trace processes to cater to the current crisis, and for any subsequent waves of Covid19 and possible future epidemics.
Guidance is quite vague about such data collection and retention; larger companies and chains may already have systems in place, but smaller and independent companies may not be familiar with the requirements or the potential ramifications.
This discussion will ask how safe is our personal data, and how can industry ensure it is easily collected and properly protected, now and into the future? How do we deal with the associated criminality? What sacrifices should we make to our privacy to protect our health and safety?
