Friday 13 March 2020
SASIG is continuing to monitor the information provided by trusted sources such as the UK Government, Public Health England and World Health Organisation, amongst others. The Prime Minister announced on the afternoon of Thursday 12 March that the government has now moved onto the next stage of dealing with the outbreak, from ‘containment’ to ‘delay’. During this phase, while officials have not yet introduced social distancing measures such as ceasing mass gatherings, they fully expect to do so over the coming months.
It is therefore with regret that we postpone all in-person SASIG events to later in the year. We will continue to work and liaise with our generous speakers and kind hosts, and look to reschedule upcoming events once we are confident that any risk to the health and wellbeing of our members, partners and staff is completely mitigated.
In the meantime…
However, we will instead be introducing additional webinar sessions in place of our in-person meetings, so please keep an eye on your inboxes over the coming weeks for further details.
We apologise and sincerely hope that you understand and support our decision regarding our in-person events and we will, of course, let everyone know of new dates once these are confirmed.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me or the SASIG team if you have any questions at email@example.com or on 01234 707 035.
My warmest regards,
