What we are doing

To protect both our employees and attendees at SASIG events, we are taking precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

We will work with each venue for specific requirements, but typically, we will have the following precautions in place:

  • All SASIG employees are fully vaccinated and take regular lateral flow tests.
  • We will limit the number of delegates attending our events.
  • There will be hand sanitisation available and regular hand-washing protocols in place.
  • The venues will be required to maintain rigorous cleaning protocols.
  • Wearing a face covering will be advised for all in attendance, though not currently mandatory.
  • All delegates asked to register their presence in the buildings using the NHS Covid-19 Contact Tracing App – we recommend downloading this app before arrival.
  • In order to register, delegates will need to agree to show their NHS Covid Pass on arrival. You can find more information about Covid Passes below. We will refuse entry to anybody who fails to show a valid pass and strictly no exceptions will be made.
  • We will remind all delegates that anyone who has any symptoms associated with Covid-19 (such as a new persistent cough, high temperature, or loss or change to sense of smell or taste) must not attend.

What we’re asking attendees to do

Before the event
  • Ensure you have read and understood the information on this page.
  • Download the NHS Covid-19 Contact Tracing App.
  • Obtain a valid NHS Covid Pass, such as through the NHS app. You can find more information about Covid Passes below. Please contact us if NHS Covid Passes are not available to you.
  • Consider alternatives to business cards (such as QR codes) to reduce contact. See our Connect at events page to find out how to use LinkedIn to network safely at our events.
  • Let us know if you test positive for Covid-19 and have been told to isolate, or have any symptoms associated with Covid-19 (such as a new persistent cough, high temperature, or loss or change to sense of smell or taste), so we can reallocate your place to somebody on our waiting list.

At the event
  • Please do not attend if you test positive for Covid-19, have been told to isolate, or have any symptoms associated with Covid-19.
  • Have your valid NHS Covid Pass ready for scanning on arrival. We will refuse entry to anybody who fails to show a valid pass and strictly no exceptions will be made.
  • Check into the venue with the NHS Covid-19 Contact Tracing App.
  • Consider using LinkedIn QR codes to network safely at our events – find out more on our Connect at events page.
  • Make use of hand washing and sanitisation facilities.
  • Wearing a face covering is advised for all in attendance, though not mandatory.

After the event

If you test positive for Covid-19 in the 48 hours after attending one of our events, please let us know as soon as possible. This will allow us to contact others who may have come into close contact with you.

NHS Covid Pass

We cannot wait to welcome you to our in-person events. When registering for any event, you will need to agree to show your NHS Covid Pass on the day to gain entry, helping reduce the risk of spread of Covid-19. Strictly no exceptions will be made, and failure to do so will mean you cannot enter.

You can get a digital version using the NHS app or NHS website, which proves you have either:

  • Been fully vaccinated with a Covid-19 vaccine used in the UK, and it is at least two weeks since your second dose;
  • Had a negative PCR test or rapid lateral flow test within the past 48 hours; or
  • Had a positive PCR test within the past six months, and you have finished self-isolating.

You can download your pass as a PDF or get it sent to you in an email.

You can also request a paper version sent to you in the post. This will prove you have been fully vaccinated with a Covid-19 vaccine used in the UK, and it is at least two weeks since your second dose.

See www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass for further details and to prepare yourself in advance of this mandatory requirement.
