Wednesday 10 February, 11am-12noon (GMT)

6 January saw extraordinary scenes in Washington DC: the storming of the Capitol Building. It was the culmination of an insurrection fanned by a US President with the extraordinary aim of undermining the very institutions of American democracy.

What role did social media play in facilitating this insurrection? What impact does it have in promoting conspiracy theories and cults like QAnon? What does this say about the current state of our democracies? And how can we respond to make our society and democratic institutions more robust?

Join Tarquin Folliss, Vice Chairman of Reliance, as he discusses these questions and more with Dr Charles Kriel, broadcaster, documentary film producer and witness to probably the most troubling US election of all time.
