The cybersecurity industry has long acknowledged the importance of the human layer, but our efforts so far have, in all honesty, not meaningfully reduced the risk in this space. Why is this? And what should we be doing differently?
We want interventions that will change the specific behaviours that will truly reduce our vulnerabilities. But we also need to help security teams do more with less and measure improvements to what actually matters. Is human risk management a step forward in thinking, or is this just yet another rebranding of the old ways of doing things?
