Emily Taylor is CEO of Oxford Information Labs and a founder of the Global Signal Exchange, the global clearinghouse for sharing scam and fraud threat signals. A lawyer by training, Emily has worked in Internet policy for 25 years and is an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. Emily has written on a wide range of digital policy issues, including geopolitics in tech, transatlantic data flows, technical standards and emerging technologies.
Emily is a regular commentator on cybersecurity for news and broadcast media, and has given evidence to several parliamentary select committees. She is a graduate of Cambridge University, and has an MBA from Open University.
In this Chief’s Brief, Martin and Emily discussed her work, and her view of the cybersecurity landscape. We were hugely privileged to hear about her personal career journey, her ongoing involvement in the development and implementation of Internet policy, and her visions for the future of data privacy and online safety.
