Friday 24 April 2026, 11am-12noon (BST)
Join us as Annick from CybSafe explores how to influence security behaviours to protect individuals, particularly children and vulnerable adults, in the digital world. For children, it addresses the Online Safety Act 2023’s mandate for platforms to protect against harmful content, discusses common online risks like bullying and scams and offers practical advice for parents, including open conversations, family agreements, and managing screen time to ensure quality over quantity.
The presentation also touches on the increasing problem of gambling through video games. For vulnerable adults, it stresses the importance of basic online safety practices (personal information, passwords, safe shopping) and provides detailed warnings about romance fraud, outlining common red flags. Finally, the session emphasises personal well-being, advocating for going offline, avoiding immediate message responses, and practising good sleep hygiene to combat cybersecurity burnout.
