The AI Attack Surface your Security Stack Can’t See | SASIG

Most security stacks are built around visibility and control – but a new class of AI tooling is quietly operating beyond both.

Your CASB doesn’t see it. Your EDR doesn’t flag it. Your proxy can’t intercept it. AI tools running natively on Apple Silicon operate outside most security controls, and they’re already on your managed fleet.

The real blind spot isn’t the tools, it’s what they connect to. MCP servers let AI agents reach into file systems, databases, APIs, and credentials autonomously, often with no policy boundary. Most security teams lack visibility into what’s running or exposed.

The only via9ble control point is the endpoint.

In this session, we make the case for endpoint-native AI governance on Mac: AI inventory, MCP visibility, policy enforcement, and audit trails aligned to NIS2, DORA, and FCA. The goal isn’t to block AI, it’s to enable it safely, with the evidence to prove it.
