A year later, that same issue is showing up in a new and more consequential way, as organisations pause or slow AI rollouts because they don’t fully trust what Copilot might expose from platforms like SharePoint and beyond. What was once a manageable risk has now become a strategic blocker, uncontrolled permissions, overshared content, and sprawling, ungoverned data are surfacing at scale. As AI amplifies visibility across the tenant, these hidden weaknesses are no longer theoretical, they are immediate.

The result is hesitation, delayed innovation, and growing concern at the leadership level. Without addressing these foundational gaps, organisations risk undermining both trust and the full promise of AI.
