Threat hunting is often perceived as a specialist discipline for organisations with big budgets and the capacity to chase adversaries they’re unlikely to ever encounter. It doesn’t have to be that way.

The Cabinet Office’s National Risk Register 2026 lists 95 risks, with new entries for cyber attacks on data infrastructure, water and policing. Each includes a reasonable worst-case scenario. So rather than exploring whether a nation-state attack is likely, we’re asking if it was happening now, would you know about it?

In this session, Andy is joined in conversation by a representative from the National Cyber Security Centre. They’ll be discussing how detection has shifted from indicators to attacker behaviours, how to choose what to hunt for without a threat intelligence team, and how to run a hunt with the logs and people you already have.
