Security awareness programmes have traditionally relied on completion rates, phishing simulation results and risk scores to measure employee behaviour. While these metrics provide useful indicators, they do not always show whether employees make secure decisions when real threats reach the organisation.

We will explore the evolution from Human Risk Management towards Secure Behaviour Management, and what this shift could mean for security leaders. We’ll examine a competency-led approach to understanding what employees can demonstrate when faced with relevant threats, how organisations can assess readiness at both an individual and programme level, and how behavioural insights can be connected with real-world phishing intelligence and response.

The session will consider how bringing these elements together can provide security teams with a more actionable view of workforce readiness and the overall effectiveness of their phishing defence strategy.
