SASIG members know that although security awareness programmes get a great deal of focus, they still frequently struggle to get the resources they need.
The need for good awareness is clearly greater than ever, yet security programs frequently prioritise other security efforts, often at the expense of awareness programmes. The potential key to changing this trend is to provide the proper metrics to demonstrate that you and your programme deserve more.
This presentation walks through different categories of metrics and highlight which metrics are appropriate in which circumstances. We also look at the hidden cost of awareness (specifically, the time employees spend participating in awareness efforts) and demonstrate how this fact renders the common metrics useless.
By the end of this presentation, you should be able to develop a plan to deserve what you need to put together a great awareness programme.
