Wellcome Trust started running breach simulations in 2021 and found that even in an exercise, things don’t always go according to plan.

We were joined by their Head of Information Security and their Chief Information Officer who shared an insight into some of the things they discovered, and some of the unexpected benefits (and issues) that running simulations has created.

Wellcome is a global charitable foundation whose work supports science to solve the urgent health issues facing everyone.
They fund curiosity-driven research, and are taking on three of the biggest health challenges facing humanity – climate change, infectious disease and mental health.
