Who would be a CISO today? The continually evolving threat landscape, the unintended consequences of emerging technology, and the growing pace of technological adoption present significant challenges to organisational resilience. Additionally, regulation and litigation raise questions about accountability and liability, with the CISO often feeling exposed. However, CISOs and their teams should not feel alone in managing the challenges. Boards must step up to the plate regarding cyber; CISOs can and must influence how they do so.

Our annual CISO Roundtable focused on the practical, emotional, and legal challenges CISOs face today and in the future. We discussed ways to mitigate them, and explored how to better deal with the old chestnut of establishing an effective dialogue with the board.
