We start the week of SASIG’s trilogy of cybercrime events with a workshop that looks at the UK’s growing and evolving capability to counter cybercrime at the national, regional and local levels. The fundamental nature of criminality in the digital age is changing in an unprecedented way. Criminal activity is constantly morphing and becoming ever-more sophisticated. At the same time, the risk of detection and prosecution remains low because of the complex legal international environment and because cyber law enforcement around the world is still immature, under-resourced and reactive.

UK law enforcement efforts to combat cybercrime are the “most joined-up bit of policing” in the country, but police forces cannot do it alone. Kindly hosted by Unilever at their prestigious London Headquarters, this will be an opportunity for the players from all parts of the fight against cybercrime to gather and review progress.
