The non-executive director’s (NED) role is a vital contribution to the board, providing independent oversight and constructive challenge to the executive directors. Boards are increasingly focused on cybersecurity as a business risk. What role could your NEDs play in contributing to your approach to understanding and mitigating this risk? What are the challenges and benefits?

Communicating effectively with NEDs is critical to maximising their input and bringing value to the organisation. We discuss with three experience non-executive directors their views on how best to engage NEDs on cybersecurity in order to maximise their input and help improve an organisation’s approach to managing this risk.
