Over the past three years, ransomware attacks on Central Government and local councils have increased, highlighting the serious impact of cybersecurity attacks on critical public services at a time we need a resilient and robust public sector.
If you work in a public sector security team, you will be aware of the GovAssure scheme, which has been developed to understand and address the cyber risks to the public sector. GovAssure must be implemented by all government bodies between now and 2030. It replaces the cybersecurity element of the Departmental Security Health Check (DSHC) from April 2023.
This talk gives an overview of GovAssure and provide the context and purpose of the scheme. The session delves into how to systematically approach the scoping, self-assessment and outcomes in a practical and useful way. The overall outcome for this talk is to help organisations understand how to approach GovAssure and achieve compliance in the long term.
