Most organisations have pretty much everything cyber attackers are looking for – sensitive and valuable data, PII and intellectual property, and cloud-based services that must not fail. However, the strain of protecting our firms from increasingly professional, innovative and sophisticated criminal schemes is beginning to show, with burnout and excessive workload pushing many security professionals to the limit.
We learned about the new and growing security challenges we are currently facing. Andrew discussed the impact burnout has on security teams and how this can lead our organisations to make poor decisions that create reputational damage and open doors for criminals.
We also heard how Andrew and Chris addressed this problem themselves by empowering employees and introducing practices to manage stress and burnout in their team, resulting in a resilient organisation better equipped to face the evolving threat landscape.
