The number and type of security breaches are increasing, and the fallout still dominates the media spotlight. Breaches remain in the top 10 risks for the World Economic Forum. We look at the cybersecurity profession and why the UK Cyber Security Council must provide stewardship for the highest possible standards of expertise, excellence, professional conduct and practice in the profession. This presentation shares how the Council delivers its mission as the profession’s voice.

In this session, previous competitors share their experience of the competition and explain how you can get involved – whether that’s as a student, a seasoned professional or an organisation.

Hania is an outstanding role model for any young people wishing to understand where the field of technology can take them. She will explain what ambition has meant for her in her career, what has helped her as a young person within such a technically expert field, and what she would like other young people and women to consider when thinking about their own career progression.

Dave Evans, CEO of OKO, will share why and how you should be thinking big and achieving your dreams. He will also outline the importance of having a mentor who thinks and feels like you. You’ll also hear from computer science graduate Eli Markham, who had applied for over 90 jobs with no success until he went through the OKO program.
